This month Dior released a new collection just in time for Spring 2009 called Parisian Nude. The Dior Parisian Nude Collection was inspired by the understated style and elegance that Parisian women posses.Dior Parisian Nude collection features gorgeous shades of beige, rosy pink and taupe, which is perfect for the everyday look. The most eye-catching piece in this collection is the Lady Dior Handbag Compact. This faux leather compact is modeled after the infamous Dior Black Lady Cannage Bag.The compact contains a mirror, sheer chic highlighter and glossy lip color. The compact can also be used as a handbag charm. If you look closely the charms on the front of the handbag spell Dior.

Dior is taking a gamble releasing a $75 dollars compact because we are in a recession, even the most die hard Dior fanatic might contemplate buying it.The eyeshadow on the other hand will be a hit with professional women who need a natural makeup look for work.

Givenchy Spring 2009 Maharani Collection makeup givenchy1 1
Nicolas Degennes who is an artistic director at Givenchy, was inspired by the refined beauty of Indian women, therefore creating the Sari Spring Collection. The collection features warm shades of gold ,orange, and pink similar to those Indian women wear in their makeup and clothing.20-year Slovakian model, Michaela Kocianovais the face for Givenchy’s Maharani Collection.Even though she looks ravishing,it would have been nice if they chosen a famous Bollywood actress or upcoming Indian model to be the face of this collection.

I’m not a blush wearer, but they are by far the most interesting and exciting items in this entire collection.Maharani Orange and Pink Sari Glow Blush ($42) are iridescent with a subtle shimmer. The blush packing is simply gorgeous. I really like the orange and pink/purple combo with the gold overlay. The blushes themselves have a black design overlay. This collection is very wearable for people of olive complexion or dark skin tones.Givenchy will also be releasing a limited edition face and eye called Prismissime Visage Palettes. These palettes are prefect for those who have tanned or pale skin.

Lancome Pink Irreverence Spring 2009 Collection

Lancome Pink Irreverence Spring 2009 Collection general pink irreverence collection

The Pink Irreverence Spring Color Collection, created by Aaron de Mey, Lancôme’s International Creative Director for Makeup is daring, and rebellious. Pink Irreverence is a surprise departure from Lancôme’s conservative makeup line from past spring collections. Pink Irreverence was inspired by Lancome’s rose icon and Aaron de Mey childhood memories of New Zealand’s Piha Volcanic Beaches . The unusual pairing of colors such as pink with black and potent shine with matte textures are very edgy even for Lancôme.This makeup look is definitely for the women who wants to get noticed.

My least favorite item in this collection is the Le Vernis Nail Polish ($25),It is the same exact side as in Color Fever “Phira Black” Gloss ($25).This black nail polish would be perfect for those who want a deep intense look.Even though I think it’s a lovely shade I personally don’t like wearing black nail polish especially ones with shimmer in them.Pink Irreverence Spring Color Collection is available at lancome-usa.com, online cosmetics stores, and department stores.

Acclaimed makeup artist Sue Devitt is best known for creating cosmetics inspired by her landscapes in homeland of Australia, and has since then created a Microquatic Hydrating Marine Minerals Eye Palettes .The Mineral Eye Palettes is just one of three pieces that was released in the Kilimanjaro Collection. The Mineral Eye Palette was created to mimic the vibrant hues of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The colors in the palette evoke “crisp mountain white caps”, the deep shades of purple and lavender reflected off the mountain during the sun’s descent and an intense black African starry night. The Mineral Eye Palette has four gorgeous shades, each were created to enhance the eye’s appearance by highlighting and brightening them. The mineral eye palettes key ingredients consist of such Shea butter, sea butter, ceramides and vitamins that help moisturize and nourish eyes.

When I first saw the mineral eye palettes I was floored by it’s appearance, but when I saw the swatches over at Temptalia I was sort of disappointed.Even though the mineral eye pallets are pigmented, the colors don’t look all that spectacular on the skin.Sue Devitt Microquatic Hydrating Marine Minerals Eye Palette cost $ 37.50 at Beauty.com , Derma Store , and Amazon.

Estée Lauder Fuchsia Now Collection general fushia now1

This month Estée Lauder released their new 2009 spring collection called Fuchsia Now.The collection was inspired by fuchsia, the “it color” that a lot of designers were using in their runway shows for spring. The Fuchsia Now collection is vibrant and playful, bursting with warm feminine color combinations. It follows the trend of wearing bold and neutral makeup colors together.Fuchsia Now pairs vibrant peach and honey colors with fuchsia for a look that flatters almost any skin tone.I must say that I love the Fuchsia Now’s color palette.I like the fact that you can use the limited edition Fleur de Lys shimmer powder colors either together or separately.Items in the Fuchsia Now collection range in price between $18-$33.50 at Estee Lauder.I do however, have one gripe about the shimmer powder- it’s a little too pretty, I wouldn’t want to use it. My biggest fear would be messing up the pattern. Read below for more information on the Fuchsia Now collection.

Fleur de Lys Shimmer Powder ($32): Pink tones and muted neutrals swirl together to create a radiant glow.
Signature Silky Eyeshadow Duo ($25): In deep, sultry shades Indigo and Aubergine.
Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick ($19.50): Featuring shades of Rich Berry and new, limited-edition Mayfair Mauve, Earthen Nude, and Perfect Nude.
Pure Color Gloss ($18): Available in Fresh Berry and new, limited-edition Honey Flower.
Pure Color Nail Lacquer ($18): Try out shades of Fuchsia and Honey Flower.

Last Thursday, Mac Cosmetics released one of its most highly anticipated collections of the year: Brunette, Blonde, Redhead. The collection was specifically created to help compliment the three different hair types. The multiple color collection has products for the eyes, cheeks, lips, skin, and even brow. The collection was previously named “Hair”, and even though I believe “hair” would have been more appropriate, Brunette, Blonde, Redhead sound more livelier and catchy.

Mac Cosmetics also released three news brushes in this collection: 65,214, and 226.The 226 is rumored to be the only brush that isn’t featured in limited edition. What I really like about this collection is the fact that the colors so rich and simplistic. With the collection being so huge, you’re bound to find items that you would love to wear.Even if you go outside your recommend color pallet, you’ll be able to find the colors you love and work best for you. Out of all the products in the  Brunette, Blonde, and Redhead collection, I thought I would be most excited about the glosses, but the eyeshadow really floored me especially Knight (Blonde) , Deep Shade (Brunette) , and Top Knot (Blonde).
